This native jewel on the northeastern coastline of Jamaica is a ten-minute drive from Ocho Rios. Sugarpot Ruins is one of the few remaining natural scenic bays and idyllic private alcoves. The name "Sugarpot Ruins" comes from 19th-century cast iron sugar pots found at the ruins. It was an old wharf once used for exporting sugar, coconut, and logwood. Next to Sugarpot is an old traditional fishing beach from where the local fishermen deliver the catch of the day. If you are looking for some quiet beach time away from the crowd this is the spot. Grab a drink, swim, relax, and enjoy a delicious seafood lunch.
